This set of two Gardenia Crown Jewels potted plants from Thompson & Morgan features large white double flowers with glossy evergreen leaves. - Soil type: fertile, non-alkaline, free-draining
- Mature height: 60cm x 120cm (23.6" x 47.2")
- 2 x Gardenia Crown Jewels (9cm potted plants) - with scented white flowers
- Plant in sheltered borders or containers in any well drained, rich fertile, neutral to acid soil.
- Choose a sheltered position in dappled or semi-shade.
- Water regularly until plants are fully established.
- Where possible, use rainwater as the lime contained in tap water will reduce the soils acidity over time.
- Where rain water is not an option we suggest a regular application of sequestered iron or sulphur chips to the pot compost or soil will boost the soil acidity.
- Feed plants regularly throughout the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
- Whilst this variety of gardenia is perfectly hardy, it will appreciate some winter protection during particularly cold periods.
- In very cold climates, container-grown plants may be moved to a cool, frost-free position for the winter.
